Deck projects

Entryways advertises deck work. Whether you want to change an existing deck or discuss a new one, start with how you hope to use it and what is there now. A customer describes a completed rebuild, while a fellow tradesman offers a separate account of coordinating adjoining work.

Planning your project

Make room for the way you spend time outside.

Use these questions to prepare for a conversation with Entryways. The scope, materials and schedule need to be agreed for your home.

01

Describe the starting point

Say whether there is an existing deck and what you would like to change about its layout, access or usable space. Share photos if you have them and ask what needs to be inspected before a scope can be agreed.

02

Discuss priorities and materials

Explain how you expect to use the deck, what matters most to you and any materials you have in mind. Ask which options fit your particular project. No product brand, material specialty or manufacturer certification is claimed here.

03

Connect the work to its surroundings

Mention doors, paths, planting or other work that needs to meet the deck. Ask who would coordinate any adjoining trades and how ordering decisions, budget changes and timing would be handled.

A customer's account

A rebuild, and a separate on-site collaboration

Mo describes a deck rebuild shaped through discussions about budget and timing. When supplied materials arrived damaged, the review says Roman worked through suggestions and fixes. In a separate account, hardscaping tradesman Joseph Davenport describes coordinating a deck and walkway where the two crews worked alongside each other. His account is evidence of that collaboration, not a claim that Entryways supplies hardscaping.

Common questions

Before getting started.

Can I discuss rebuilding an existing deck?

Yes. Decks are on Entryways’ published service list, and Mo describes a rebuild. Explain what you want to change and ask what can be retained or would need to be replaced after assessment.

Can deck work meet an existing walkway?

Joseph describes a past job where he coordinated hardscaping with Entryways’ deck work. Ask how any similar coordination would be arranged for your property; his account does not establish a bundled walkway service.

Are materials, a price or a completion date specified here?

No. Bring your preferences and budget range to the conversation, then confirm materials, the agreed scope, ordering and current timing with Entryways.

Talk through your deck plans.

Call to discuss what you have in mind, your project location and current availability.
